烈日灼人，不少人出門都會抹防曬乳，避免皮膚曬傷、曬黑，但市面上防曬產品琳瑯滿目，有的可防水、也有用噴的，防曬的係數高低也不同。弘光科大化妝品應用系副教授黃文盈表示，「不同人對同款防曬乳的反應會有所不同」，防曬乳不一定係數高就好，民眾在選用時，只需挑適合自己的即可。
防曬乳產品的防曬係數，可經由儀器或人體試驗的測定得到，而人體試驗較貼近實際使用的效果。弘光科大化妝品創研中心今年取得全國認證基金會(TAF)認證，通過人體試驗認證防曬乳測試的實驗室。黃文盈表示，人體測試防曬乳係數的過程相當不容易，從挑選測試者、操作進行、模擬紫外線直接照射皮膚、塗抹標準品防曬乳、操作技術，每個環節緊緊相扣，操作技術不好很容易失敗，也可能造成測試者皮膚紅腫發炎。
黃文盈說，防曬乳的防曬係數高低，防曬效果會因人而異，防曬係數低的不見得就無效，防曬係數高的不見得效果就會倍增，容易曬黑的人，建議可選用係數較高的產品，不容易曬黑的則可選用係數低的。
弘光科大妝品系副教授陳明仁指出，由於配方不同，有防水功效的防曬乳比較持久，否則可能一流汗就沒了，用噴的、抹的也沒差，主要是均勻程度。他強調，在進行防曬係數測試時，如果塗抹不均勻會測試失敗，因此，民眾在使用時，也要塗抹均勻。
陳明仁說，有的人使用時會質疑，高防曬係數產品效果不如預期，可能是塗抹量不足導致，「不管使用哪一種係數，日曬時間長短、塗抹均勻度與用量等，都會影響防曬效果。」
